My passion for floral design started with a few packets of flower seeds scattered over a spare patch of earth on my allotment. When the flowers began to bloom, I discovered a hidden talent for turning what I’d grown into wild, whimsical arrangements. The flower seeds were soon followed by heirloom roses, dahlias and my most favourite flowers, peonies; and after the birth of my daughter Poppy, I decided to gain more formal training by enrolling at the Jane Packer Flower School in London.
There, I learnt the tricks of the trade but knew that my personal style, arrangements that emulate the way plants grow in nature, would be my ‘raison d’etre’ for Poppy and Peonies. I enhance many of my designs with flowers and foliage grown in my cutting garden and prefer to use seasonal British flowers and foliage as much as possible.
Happy to travel far and wide to produce stunning, bespoke floral designs for weddings and events, my creative background as a writer and stylist for some of the UK’s top fashion and lifestyle magazines, means I’m also able to offer botanical styling for photo shoots and press launches.
Whether you’re looking to create a wildly romantic scheme for a wedding or something simple and chic for an event, please do get in touch and find out how Poppy and Peonies can make your vision a reality.
